Razvan Capanescu

Chief Creative Officer, Leo Burnett Romania, Romania

Razvan Capanescu is an internationally award winning creative director, with an appetite for travelling.

Starting with October 2014, he embraced another challenge, taking the Chief Creative Officer role at Leo Burnett Group, splitting his time between London and Bucharest and making the most of what technology has to offer when it comes to e-meetings. He used to be the Chief Creative Officer of Publicis Bucharest, a place where he has consistently steered the group into the top agencies of Central and Eastern Europe. He also coordinated the digital mavericks there, getting some of the best gigs out of it – like one of his dearest and most awarded campaigns: "Hack-this-site.com and you're hired", for Bitdefender (data security global champion). His digital work for ING Bank, Microsoft, Orange or Renault didn’t go unnoticed either.

Razvan is to be found guilty of several creative premiers of the agency: the first gold at the International Golden Drum Festival, the first Epica Awards, the first Cannes Lion, the first admissions in the prestigious Luerzer’s Archive and the first Intercontinental Advertising Cup (and for a digital campaign) won by a local agency.

Born in ‘74, Razvan graduated the Law School but didn’t pursue a lawyer career (in spite of his parents despair). Over 17 years now, he pleads for brands such as Bitdefender, Carrefour, Guinness, IKEA, Microsoft, Nestle, Nissan, Orange, Renault, Samsung or WWF.

Capa - as friends call him - thinks that a great ad is like a work of art – it moves you and will persist in your memory as a remarkable spirited essay. But that doesn’t prevent him to enjoy lighter thoughts and visual pleasures such as comic books or category Z movies. He also thinks football (soccer) is a religion.

Specialties: creative direction, communication strategy, creative breakthrough and development, writing, branding, PR programs, digital platforms and campaigns, managing creative talent.
